In May, a golden eagle was found injured near Lake Palestine by Texas Parks and Wildlife game warden Chris Greene. It was brought to local veterinarian Steve Wilson and rehabilitator Beverly Grage for initial emergency care. They stabilized the bird, but it was still not standing well or eating on its own. Last Chance Forever was called to take over the bird's care.

At LCF, Dr. Melissa Hill and John Karger determined that the bird had suffered eletrical burns. Among its injuries were burns on its feet and an exit mark in the wing. We are happy to announce that this eagle was released several weeks later near where it was found, in a celebration of all its rescuers.

OUR MISSION: TO HELP SICK, INJURED, AND ORPHANED BIRDS OF PREY RETURN TO THEIR NATURAL HABITAT. BIRDS THAT ARE DEEMED NON-RELEASABLE AND ARE NOT SUFFERING PHYSICAL PAIN ARE UTILIZED AS EDUCATIONAL AMBASSADORS AND ARE PROVIDED PERMANENT SANCTUARY. LAST CHANCE FOREVER BELIEVES EDUCATION IS THE KEY TO MAKING A LARGER IMPACT IN THE WORLD, AND SUPPORTS THIS BELIEF WITH PUBLIC EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING ABOUT RAPTORS AND PRACTICAL ENVIRONMENTALISM.
